Diigo.com could help teachers and students by being an easy place to store and share approved sites for research projects. Not to mention, the highlighting tool can help students analyze texts while reading them.
Diigo.com will be a welcome tool to use since we cannot store things under FAVORITES. Teachers can have sites saved that they want their students to view before and during a project. It will also be a time saver for teachers.
It is the answer to "deep freeze" we have all been looking for. I have already created my own account and have been using it on a regular basis. If offers many options to the teacher as well as the studnent. I like to use the highlighter tool and sticky notes on my articles before showing them in class. This helps me to remember all the things I want to bring up that I usually forget.
I believe Diigo.com will be useful to both teachers and students. Teachers will be able to bookmark favorite sites and avoid the deep freeze problem. I am looking forward to using the highlight and stick note features to help keep me (and my students) on track. Students will also be able save sites as they complete research activities, both at home and school.
Diigo.com will be useful in my class both with my students and myself. I will be able to save my sites so I can use them each year. I will also beable to highlight things in an article and save it. This will help me stay more orginized. My students will be able to review what they missed when they were absent.
I think my colleagues who have written before me have covered the possible benefits of this site well. It will be nice to have a "favorites" list available here on my classroom computer, to show students how they can create one, and to use the highlighter function.
I totally agree with everyone who has previously shared their opinion. Just knowing I don't have to enter or relocate the same information each time I turn my computer back on is a blessing for me. Deep Freeze is a pain even for someone as "technologically savvy" as I am. Ha!
I too agree with those above and their opinion on how beneficial diigo will be for myself and my students. Honestly, I wish I would have had this while completing my masters degree. The two components that I think are the coolest: sticky notes and screen shot. The sticky notes are great for if you have a question(s) on the topic(s) you have read about. It's great because many times you forget those questions after reading an entire piece. But with this feature you can stick the note at the section you questioned.
This will be an easy way to store favorite web sites for myself and my students. The highlighter and sticky note tools will be a great way to tag specific information that will help in organizing resources, not to mention organizing myself. I like the fact that you can choose to be private or public and share with specific groups and communities. Also, great for collaboration with other teachers.
This site will be useful when there are computer music sites that let kids compose music. In fact, there are many sites band students can use for theory and aural training. Being such a performance based class, having this site will be useful so we do not waste time in the computer lab trying to look up sites.
It is a great way to save appropved sites for student use. Good for keeping up with sites that are used many times in the year. For reading, the highlighting tool can be very helpful for students with comprehension struggles.
Diigo.com is a way to pre-select approved sites and you will not lose them once the computer in shut down due to deep freeze. The sites would then be available to all classes/students.
Like everyone else, having a way to keep up with sites that I can save here will be wonderful. I also like the sticky notes - way too cool, and I might not lose these!
This site is a great way to keep up with the things I would like to use in class with my students, particularly if there is more than one website I would like to use during a lesson.
Diigo is a great way to keep up with things that I otherwise might lose. Saving websites in that way will be quite handy. Then I can share them with others as well. I like the highlight and sticky note feature. Thanks for sharing this!
Diigo is a great site as it allows you to save everything that you feel you will use again. This way it is kind of like an electronic notebook, easy to keep up with and accessible from anywhere. You can even see possible strategies that others have used and get ideas that might improve your approaches. It is really great in this regard for collaboration, which should be a great benefit to any teacher. Adam Kennington
I LOVE it!!! With deep freeze, this is a better option to having a Word document with favorite websites. I can create an account for website tutorials for my students and they can use it to "practice" or review.
This site could help me store important topics, 5K race events, or other important materials. The kids can benefit by finding the races that will fit their schedule.
This site can provide opportunities for my students to apply higher level thinking skills, research and collect information and retrieve their information from any computer iPod or iPad.
Finding that site that you think will be so helpful in your classroom, but only to find it missing when you shut down your computer is a pain. This will help! Teresa
Wow there are alot of neat activities my chorus students can participate in and they are all under "one roof". Love it because even I can keep up with it!!
